Rooney to Chelsea: It's started again

Rooney to Chelsea: It's started again

With reports emerging from Manchester of Wayne Rooney stalling on a new contract, rumours of an impending bid from Chelsea have surfaced once again

Rooney - leaving United?
Having failed with a bid for the English centre forward in the summer, and Jose Mourinho openly declaring his admiration for the player, it was inevitable that these rumours would emerge once the January transfer window opened.

Earlier this week David Moyes admitted he did not know whether Rooney would sign a new deal, with Manchester United's qualification for the Champions League a key feature in the player's willingness to stay. Not what United fans wanted to hear, but music to the ears of Mr Mourinho mere weeks after clamouring for "the last few pieces of the jigsaw".

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are considering a £30m bid for the player. With just 18 months left on his contract, it is not inconceivable that United may wish to cash in on one of their stars this summer, although they will be reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival.

What do you think? Would Rooney be a good fit? Is the price right?
